Carved wood monkey

The Monorail Monkey was born in Brazil in 1994. His two children, lathe-turned wood monkeys, were born in Denmark in 1960. No, that doesn't make sense.

Also, a major shout-out to Monorail Cat.

Ceramic whistle bulls.

Other post card children, these bulls hail all the way from Barcelos, Portugal. Even at the age of 49, they manage to exude childlike innocence and wonder. Don't be fooled, though. They will end you.

Straw nativity sheep.

These sheep were born in Sweden around 1915. They now live in (the Museum of) New Mexico. The picture is from a photo shoot they did for the avante garde postcard series "Folk Art Critters." Some of their New Mexican frenemies are to follow.
